At our consultation for the project (then known as Great Notley East), now known as Hayeswood, which completed in November 2021, we presented our proposals to provide up to 2,000 new homes towards the allocation identified in the draft local plan, along with employment opportunities, a primary school, community facilities and open spaces.
Following responses from the consultation and the adoption of the local plan reducing the allocation to 1,750 new homes, we have made revisions to our proposals. These, include –
- The development name has been changed from Great Notley East to Hayeswood.
- The previously proposed vehicle access point on Bakers Lane will now be bus only.
- The two primary access points will be from the A120 off slip road and Notley Road.
The application for Hayeswood presents a unique opportunity to create a thriving new complementary neighbourhood east of Great Notley. The proposals are for a quality development that will enhance where new and existing residents live, work and play.
The Hayeswood Consortium, which includes Bloor Homes, Bellway Homes, Martin Grant Homes and Miller homes, intends to submit a planning application to Braintree District Council in the autumn of 2023.
If the application is successful construction work on site is expected to start in 2026, with the first new homes available in early 2027.
